What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct assessments of alleged child abuse and neglect
- Interview household members and visit locations to gather information
- Analyze information to make judgments about child safety
- Prepare written and oral testimony for court appearances
- Collaborate with social service agencies, hospitals, and community resources
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must possess a valid driver's license and meet minimum State Department of Administration fleet standards
- Experience, training, or education in social welfare or related field
- Experience creating written reports or assessments
- Ability to handle competing priorities and make unbiased decisions
- Minimum of two years licensed driving experience
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Associate Degree or higher in social welfare or related field
- Experience interpreting and applying social welfare-related laws and regulations
- Training in interviewing diverse populations
- Experience handling stressful and de-escalating situations
- Experience investigating allegations of child abuse or neglect
