      Job Description

      The Injection Molding Process Technician is responsible for setting up, optimizing, and troubleshooting injection molding processes to ensure high-quality production. This role involves working with production teams, maintenance, and engineering to improve efficiency, reduce scrap, and maintain consistent quality standards. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in injection molding, machine setup, and process improvement.

      Responsibilities

      • Set up and start injection molding machines, including installing molds, adjusting parameters, and verifying part quality.
      • Optimize molding processes to improve cycle time, minimize defects, and enhance productivity.
      • Diagnose and resolve processing issues such as flash, short shots, warping, and dimensional inconsistencies.
      • Conduct regular process audits and recommend corrective actions.
      • Start up and shut down molding machines.
      • Operate forklift to do mold changes and to move and organize molds.
      • Ensure proper documentation of machine settings, process changes, and maintenance activities.
      • Responsible for the operation, repair, and maintenance of high-volume molding machines.
      • Monitor production quantities for color change, mold change, and product completions.
      • Execute all activities within the scope of approved procedures and set priorities necessary to accomplish pre-determined goals based on production needs.
      • Monitor scrap being produced from the process and effect changes needed to eliminate the root cause of scrap.
      • Maintain an acceptable level of housekeeping by 5S standards in the assigned work area.
      • Promote, attain, and maintain safety, quality, and environmental awareness and requirements in the area of responsibility.
      • Identify and resolve issues in the assigned working area related to equipment, machines, personnel, process, training, and materials, which conflict in obtaining maximum quality of production and efficiencies.
      • Provide recommendations to engineering about process improvement opportunities for processes, practices, equipment, performance, and efficiency of operations.
      • Inspect machines hourly in the assigned working area to ensure production of acceptable quality parts to prevent mass production of defective or unacceptable parts (scrap).
      • Accurately report daily shift performances, which include but are not limited to safety, quality, labor hours, production tickets, scrap, and first part approvals.

      Essential Skills

      • 10+ years experience with Plastic Injection Molding.
      • 5+ years experience as a Process Technician.
      • PLC Troubleshooting.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Experience with injection mold, process technician, PLC troubleshooting, plastic injection molding, troubleshooting, mold tooling, molding machine, mold change, and mold setup.

      Work Environment

      Work indoors and outdoors; exposure to temperatures commensurate with outdoor seasonal temperatures. Will be moving equipment consistently, lifting up to 50lbs throughout the day.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $61200.00 - $80000.00/yr.
