What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Read and interpret health record documentation to identify diagnoses and procedures affecting inpatient encounters
- Complete final review of medical records and select appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes within designated deadlines
- Review medical documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with medical necessity
- Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Specialists to address documentation deficiencies
- Organize and prioritize assigned work queues to ensure timely reviews

What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED
- Understanding of CPT and ICD-10 coding systems
- Certification as CCA, CCS, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA; must obtain CCS within 12 months of hire
- Ability to apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and clinical terminology in coding
- Experience in data charge entries for hospital and physician patient accounting systems

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management
- Two (2) years of coding experience in a healthcare setting
