What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review inpatient hospital claims to ensure proper reimbursement and resolve provider disputes
- Extract clinical information from medical records and assign appropriate medical codes (e.g., ICD-10-CM, CPT)
- Analyze and manipulate databases to support accurate claims payment and DRG assignments
- Respond to internal requests for medical information and clarify coding inquiries
- Make independent decisions regarding work methods and follow established guidelines
What is Required (Qualifications):
- RHIA, RHIT, or CCS Certification with a minimum of 4 years of experience
- MS-DRG coding/auditing experience
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting claims
- Experience performing inpatient coding reviews/audits in healthcare settings
- Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in APR DRG coding/auditing
- Background in Financial Recovery
- Familiarity with fast-paced, metrics-driven operational environments
