What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct independent in-depth analysis of annual and quarterly financial statements of insurance companies
- Review insurer applications to assess qualifications for Oregon certificate of authority
- Analyze other required insurer filings, such as insurance holding company registration statements
- Communicate with insurers regarding compliance issues and questions
- Respond to inquiries from attorneys, insurers, and the public regarding financial reporting and regulations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Hold the Accredited Financial Examiner designation through the Society of Financial Examiners
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field with specific coursework in accounting and business law
- Strong accounting and analytical skills
- Effective organizational and independent work skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with electronic workpapers and spreadsheets
- Familiarity with Oregon insurance laws and regulations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Previous experience in financial analysis or regulatory compliance
