Our Benefit Integration Management Services team is seeking an experienced Overpayment Recovery Specialist to join their team.

      JOB SUMMARY:

      The Overpayment Recovery Specialist performs a variety of client-centric duties specific to disability and insurance overpayment recovery and benefit integration within established Benefit Integration Management Services (BIMS) guidelines.

      JOB HIGHLIGHTS:
      • 100% Remote Role; Equipment provided.
      • Full time - (40 hrs/week) Monday-Friday am - 530pm EST
      • Reports directly to the Manager of Reimbursement Facilitation
      • Salary $52-$58k. The pay range provided is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.


      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
      • Obtains and analyzes financial information to identify and establish effective benefit integration and initiates expeditious overpayment recovery. Calculates claim benefits, overpayments and underpayments based on claim procedures, product design, contract provisions and applicable state/federal laws and regulations. Work components include the reconstruction of prior benefit calculations, determining adjustments, considering taxability issues, integration with multiple sources of income and right of recovery.
      • Organizes and effectively manages assigned caseload to achieve production goals in close collaboration with team members. Identifies and proactively communicates with Management relative to any issue that may impede effective program processes.
      • Working within BIMS guidelines, proactively corresponds directly with claimants, family members, appointed representatives, attorneys or other interested parties, to maximize overpayment recovery rate and ensure timely results. From referral through recovery, assesses the claim to determine best course of action seeking guidance/direction as needed. If recovery efforts are exhausted, determines the need for ongoing overpayment involvement and communicates with identified collection vendors.
      • Communicates, verbally and in writing, with assigned claimant base regarding collection of overpayments, reimbursement requirements, status of overpayments and all other aspects of the benefit integration process. Responds in a timely manner to claimant concerns and/or questions regarding overpayments. Identifies complex claim scenarios requiring escalation to Management. Ensures timely resolution within the scope of job responsibility.
      • Prepares accurate and timely entries, posting all necessary data points to company database and customer data management systems to ensure accurate financial and workload reporting is produced.
      • Other duties as assigned.


      EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT OR EQUIVALENT:
      • High School diploma or equivalent, plus 4-6 years work experience working with group disability claims, specifically calculating overpayments required.
      • Bachelor's degree, industry courses, and/or prior collection experience strongly preferred.
      • Thorough knowledge of disability claims with ability to apply job-related provisions.

      • Excellent math, contract interpretation and MS Office skills required.
      • Must be able to maintain high degree of accuracy, pay strict attention to detail, and manage a large volume of work in progress.
      • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
      • Must be able to work independently.
