What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Obtain and verify complete insurance information and eligibility for services
- Perform prior authorizations and procure necessary documentation from physician offices and insurance companies
- Collect clinical information such as lab values and diagnosis codes
- Bill insurance companies for therapies provided and document all pertinent communications
- Identify and coordinate patient resources related to reimbursement, including copay cards and assistance programs
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma with 1+ years of medical billing or insurance verification experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field can substitute for experience
- Experience with payors and prior authorization preferred
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship
- Ability to work remote anywhere in the U.S. during specified hours
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience with healthcare reimbursement processes
- Familiarity with insurance claims and eligibility verification
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding
