What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide phone-based support for callers seeking access to essential health and human services
- Connect residents of Washington to available community resources while offering empathetic support
- Work as part of a team to create positive experiences for callers facing difficult circumstances
- Utilize a resource directory to provide community-based referrals and information to callers
- Complete other tasks as assigned in a confidential remote setting
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience
- Previous experience working or volunteering in a call center, particularly with underserved populations
- Knowledge of community resources available for callers needing localized support
- Ability to demonstrate active listening skills and coach others in these skills
- Professional phone demeanor and experience working in a fast-paced team environment
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience in a role that required providing support to individuals in crisis
- Familiarity with IT/software platforms used in a call center environment
- Experience in a confidential work setting
