What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage payer rejections and claim edits to ensure timely submission of claims
- Review and correct claims that fail billing system edits for accuracy
- Document actions taken on accounts and submit corrected claims within designated timeframes
- Contact payers or patients for additional information required for billing
- Collaborate with management to identify improvements in billing processes
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an associate’s degree plus two years of healthcare revenue cycle experience, or a High School diploma/GED plus four years of relevant experience
- Basic accounting skills and understanding of third-party billing requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with medical billing software and systems
- Experience with EPIC preferred
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Six months of medical billing experience with knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding
- Basic understanding of HCPCS coding
- Familiarity with the Windows environment and billing software
