      As an Intermediate Electrical Engineer, you will:

      1. Under limited supervision, create basic to highly complex designs of electric master system plans, power systems, protection and generation models, facility power systems, sustainability/renewable energy systems, and other similar electrical systems.
      2. Perform studies of power systems and electrical calculations for electrical systems, lighting simulations, lighting layouts, communications, fire alarm, security, and other similar calculations.
      3. Develop white papers and technical documentation to support the firm's technical knowledge management (TKM).
      4. Perform site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications. Update design requirements as necessary.
      5. Contribute to the firm's technical knowledge management (TKM) by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc. Submit technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.
      6. Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs). Review draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local, and federal regulations and best practices. Meet with current and potential future clients to review their current and future design needs.
      7. Attend conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.
      8. Perform other duties as required.
      9. Provide technical guidance and training to more junior staff. Mentor more junior staff and develop them for future growth within the discipline and firm. May supervise the work of junior engineers on project work.

      Minimum Qualifications:

      1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or Electrical Technology or related discipline. Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam in states where an EIT is not obtainable (within 18 months of hire or promotion or transfer).
      2. 5 years of related experience.
      3. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
      4. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      1. Experience designing power systems for water, wastewater, industrial, federal, and transit facilities.
      2. Experience designing medium and low-voltage power distribution systems.
      3. Familiar with industry and federal codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, NESC, IEEE, UFC, etc.)
      4. Experience conducting power system analysis using software such as SKM Power Tools for Windows and ETAP.

      Skills and Abilities:

      1. Expert knowledge of computer-assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
      2. Expert knowledge of engineering principles of design.
      3. Expert knowledge of Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.).
      4. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

      Pay Range Minimum: $81,765

      Pay Range Maximum: $134,909

      Additional Compensation: All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.

      Work Location Options: Hybrid Work Options may be considered for successful candidate.
