- Gathers data through time/motion studies, electronic data pulls, or online surveys; enters and analyzes data using Excel.
- Maps processes from start to finish.
- Participates in and facilitates project meetings as needed.
- Creates informative presentations and delivers to leadership, peers, and project teams.
- Applies system-level thinking and operational excellence techniques for problem-solving and a clear, open, one-team approach for communicating with hospital customers.
- Gains familiarity with and utilizes Lean, Six Sigma, Institute for Healthcare Improvement, and Change Management tools to identify and select solutions to operational problems.
- Performs some clerical office coordination and/or administration tasks related to projects as needed.
- High school diploma required. Must be actively enrolled and pursuing an undergraduate degree in science, engineering, business, or healthcare, such as but not limited to industrial engineering, healthcare administration, operations management, or medicine.
- Proficient with MSOffice: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience in data and statistical analysis is beneficial but not required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of staff, outside vendors, consultants, and physicians.
Overview
The intern will provide assistance to Process Improvement Specialist and Senior Specialist assigned to perform process improvement studies to find ways to improve efficiency, reduce cost, improve job satisfaction and/or customer service.
Schedule: Summer 2024 (Monday-Friday, standard 1st shift schedule)
Location: Fully on-site at our central campus
