What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Retrieve, process, and clean large-scale biomedical data to build high-quality datasets
- Design and develop machine learning models for clinical or biomedical research, focusing on Large Language Models (LLMs) and medical imaging
- Conduct experimental design and evaluation, including statistical analysis and performance assessment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine research questions and interpret results
- Contribute to scientific writing, including drafting manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Currently pursuing an MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Informatics, Engineering, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
- Demonstrated experience with large-scale machine learning or foundation models, including training and evaluating LLMs
- Strong programming skills in Python (or R) with experience in machine learning frameworks
- In-depth knowledge of study design, data analysis, and statistical methodologies with prior experience in clinical or biomedical data
- Minimum availability of 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Prior authorship or co-authorship of peer-reviewed publications
- Experience with interactive visualization tools (e.g., Plotly, Dash, D3.js, or React)
- Excellent communication skills for presenting results to both technical and non-technical audiences
