      RIHousing – Intern- Development Division

      Pay Rate - $20/hr

      What it’s all about:

      An internship working with RIHousing’s Development Division.

      What you’ll do on a daily basis:

      • Assist with architectural drawing reviews and design specifications of assigned development proposals to ensure that they meet RIHousing guidelines and code/zoning requirements.
      • Assist with review of preliminary and final construction cost estimates, contractual agreements, and related loan documents to ensure that quality construction is provided at a reasonable price and in compliance with RIHousing guidelines.
      • Accompany D&C staff with field inspections, assist with preparation of site reports, requisitions and change order reviews to ensure the appropriate expenditure of funds and that work is proceeding according to approved plans and specifications.
      • Complete data entry with in-house construction accounting software.

      What you’ll need to succeed:

      • Working towards degree in architecture, civil engineering, construction management, or related field or equivalent work experience
      • Working knowledge of construction management including methods, techniques, specifications, materials, and equipment
      • Working knowledge of interpreting design drawings and specifications
      • Working knowledge of construction cost estimating and accounting
      • Skills in analytics, communications, technical report writing, computer and organizational
      • Use of personal vehicle, valid driver’s license and proof of insurance is required
