- Develop and edit engaging TikToks using Canva, CapCut, and other relevant tools.
- Interview student interns to spotlight their experiences.
- Stay current on TikTok trends and apply platform best practices to create viral, mission-aligned content.
- Either manage your own successful TikTok account or demonstrate an understanding of how to build one that resonates with Gen Z audiences.
- Create and update graphics using TWC’s branded Canva templates for Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
- Repurpose photo and video assets into short-form content that aligns with campaign goals and platform standards.
- Draft and schedule posts in HubSpot across multiple channels (TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook).
- Help identify content opportunities that support recruitment, student engagement, and TWC storytelling initiatives.
- Strong interest in the marketing or communications field required
- Strong writing and editing ability, with a proven track record writing for external audiences
- Student enrolled in a bachelor's degree program or recent graduate preferred
- Experience or interest in graphic design and/or social media preferred
- Experience with Asana or a similar project management system preferred
- Experience with Canva or a similar graphic design platform preferred
- Willingness to take on projects with enthusiasm and an entrepreneurial spirit
- Strong desire to provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders
- Team-oriented approach to work, balanced with ability to work well independently
- Ability to work efficiently towards deadlines and in a fast-paced environment
- Ability and willingness to travel within Washington, D.C.
- Demonstrated ability to create short-form video content (e.g., TikTok, Reels)
- Strong storytelling, interviewing, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of trends in higher education or Gen Z digital culture is a plus.

- Intern must have access to their own secure laptop computer and high-speed internet connection [LA3]
- Intern must have access to their own smartphone with social media apps (Instagram, TikTok, CapCut)

Intern, Social Media
The Social Media Intern will focus on creating dynamic and engaging content for TikTok and other social media platforms to support The Washington Center’s (TWC) recruitment and thought leadership goals. The position involves producing short-form video content using tools like Canva and CapCut, interviewing student interns to highlight their experiences and staying on top of TikTok trends to craft content that resonates with Gen Z audiences.
Salary Range: $18-20/hour
Date Range: The ideal timeline for this position is September – December 2025.
Time Commitment: Maximum of 10 hours per week
Location: Washington, D.C./DMV region
