Support the development and execution of the Internal Communications Strategy to drive employee connection to and ambassadorship for OLG’s mission, purpose, truths, and strategic priorities
Lead the development and delivery of internal communications that build a fun, inclusive and performance driven culture that is a destination for top talent, drives employee engagement with positive results, and enables delivery of OLG’s strategic priorities
Work strategically with senior leaders to shape and share the corporate story as a tool for employee engagement and business growth
Identify and manage issues affecting employees or the business to provide strategic internal communications counsel, response and direction to senior leaders and executives as appropriate
Identify and manage systemic or recurring issues and develop mitigation strategies when developing strategic internal communications plans
Work cross-functionally in partnership with People and Culture and other Shared Services and Lines of Business to execute communications initiatives from concept to delivery
Develop and deliver customized communication products, across a range of communication media (email, intranet, employee digital newsletter, town halls, people leader calls) to engage employees and drive them to internal communication channels for knowledge uptake, and information sharing/exchange
Provide high level of editorial review to ensure consistency and quality across all communication channels/resources, including OLG’s internal website and publications
Manage OLG’s feedback channels to encourage open, two-way communication between senior leaders and employees, and increase opportunities for employees to provide input into the organization’s programs and initiatives
Enable key division-led programs, initiatives, and activities through planning, developing, and delivering a wide range of internal communication products for the divisions and all OLG
Assist in the content development and coordination of CEO communications and engagements, including monthly all-employee messages and town halls
Support the development and production of public reporting documents including Annual Business Plan and Annual Report
Lead the education of internal stakeholders in communication best practices; create tools and materials that enhance the development of communication skills of People Leaders and employees to maintain up-to-date practices
Continuously monitor, measure, and improve the effectiveness of the internal communications service offering, communication channels, and resources through the development and implementation of internal communication reviews and internal client satisfaction surveys to maintain product/service satisfaction

We are ready to take this game to the next level and need a passionate Internal Communications Manager to lead the development and execution of strategic communications and initiatives that drive employee ambassadorship for OLG’s mission, purpose, truths, and the delivery of our Game ON strategic plan. Working cross-functionally with executives and senior leaders across OLG’s Lines of Business and Shared Services, provide strategic communications leadership, guidance and support to develop and deliver compelling, informative, engaging, and creative communications that drive business growth, employee engagement and a fun, inclusive and performance driven culture that is a destination for top talent.
YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME
Reporting to the Director, Internal Communications, you will be empowered to:
WHAT YOU NEED TO PLAY
Work Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in a communications role. Expert level knowledge and experience in strategic internal communications planning. Proven ability to work in agile environments where you can respond effectively to changing priorities.
Knowledge & Education: University degree in Communications/Journalism or equivalent experience. Expert level knowledge and experience in strategic internal communications planning and execution. Strong understanding of the use of different communications media and multimedia software. Understanding of issues impacting provincial and municipal governments that may be potential areas of sensitivity. Knowledge of the creative process and the development of materials and production is an asset.
Critical Skills: Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Solid track record of excellence in developing and executing internal communications and demonstrated ability to create compelling messaging for a variety of audiences and channels. Ability to tailor content for specific audiences that demonstrates a deep understanding of messaging, positioning and stakeholder needs. Strong ability to work on several projects simultaneously, adhering to tight deadlines and communicating progress to senior leadership. Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment, across different levels and functions of the organization. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to interact with executive and senior leaderships as well as individuals and groups, spanning all organizational levels Strong understanding of digital communication tools, including WordPress and SharePoint. Problem solving and critical thinking skills. Excellent creative and editing skills. Detail oriented. Technical skills (Microsoft, Adobe Creative Suite, HTML).
