- Project manager and/or communication consultant in developing communication strategies for corporate and multidisciplinary projects, publications or collateral for various client areas including administrative, clinical, research and education institutes or departments.
- Acts as liaison between client areas and marketing staff.
- Ensures deadlines and timelines are adhered to including overseeing deadlines of freelance writers.
- Collaborates with client areas and graphic designers to determine appropriate graphic presentation of copy.
- Conducts interviews with physicians, institute/department chairmen, clinicians, patients and other sources.
- Writes and edits copy for newsletters, brochures, direct mail pieces, displays and other collateral materials, as well as speeches and copy for the intranet and website.
- Supervises junior writers and/or freelance writers.
- Conducts secondary research for publication development.
- Oversees multidisciplinary clinical projects such as annual reports and special one-time publications.
- Measure and track internal communications metrics, and utilize analytics to improve offerings and optimize response and ROI evaluation.
- Participates in marketing meetings, task forces and groups.
- Serves on various committees throughout the organization.
- Serves as part of communications team for emergency operations management.
- Assists in public information officer duties as needed.

- Excellent writing, editing, grammar and proofreading skills.
- Strong working knowledge of all forms of communication (print and electronic).
- Demonstrated ability to organize and handle multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Effective interpersonal skills needed to conduct interviews with physicians, nurses, patients and people at all levels inside and outside the organization.
- Must be self-motivated and have a demonstrated ability to produce quality results.
- Ability to work closely with senior leadership and in team environments.
- Creativity and experience with publication production a plus.
- Knowledge of communication practices in healthcare or another industry(ies).
- Within the scope of the job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful and collaborative environment.
- Minimum of six years of experience in a communication/marketing function to include experience in writing, editing, researching and preparing material for publication.
- Requires frequent sitting, normal or corrected vision and manual dexterity sufficient to perform work on a personal computer.
- Requires the ability to walk to various locations.
- Able to function in a stressful environment.
- Ability to lift and transport up to 15 pounds.
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Our Marketing Department is looking to add an Internal Communications Manager to their dedicated team. This position is vital to the function of Cleveland Clinic as you will be responsible for organizing, writing, and determining the cadence of all our internal communications. You will be working closely with our Enterprise Corporate Communications team, attending meetings and aligning our goals with all Cleveland Clinic locations.
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
-Communicating to all Cleveland Clinic caregivers via email and our intranet.
-Being available for all crisis communications, such as hurricanes and other related region issues.
-Ensuring deadlines and timelines are adhered to, including overseeing deadlines of freelance writers.
-Collaborating with client areas and graphic designers.
-Writing and editing copy for newsletters, brochures, direct mail pieces, displays and other collateral materials, as well as speeches and copy for the intranet and website.
