Job Description

- Coordinating content among social media accounts, including outreach to our 101,165 Facebook followers, as well posting content via Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Strengthening web presence, including inventorying webpages, proposing revisions to webpages, and tracking google analytics for webpage performance.
- Supporting APAGS blog posts, including encouraging authors, tracking submissions, editing content, and proposing or writing content.
- Assisting with APA Annual Convention activities, including creating promotional materials, marketing and producing events, workshops, and other programming, and providing staff support for virtual events.
- Supporting activities within the APA Education Directorate and Graduate Studies portfolio, including the launch of the 2023 Graduate Study in Psychology database and recruitment and retention of programs into the Psychology Centralized Application system (PSYCAS)
- Triaging email and phone communications, including answering student questions and routing requests to other offices, as necessary.
- Carrying out administrative tasks such as merging files, taking meeting minutes, sending notification letters, creating FAQs, and setting up and distributing Doodle polls.
We are currently accepting applications. We are looking for a Summer intern but start and end dates are flexible. Preference will be given to those with availability between May-August.

An internship with APA’s Center for Education in Psychology may be the right fit for you! Our office supports graduate students and programs in psychology, including working closely with the American Psychological Association Graduate Student (APAGS) Committee, and fosters a competent psychology workforce. Projects for interns within the office include: providing staff support on projects and initiatives; assisting with social media content, web presence, and general communications; and contributing to graduate student events and programs for the APA’s Annual Convention.
A graduate student intern is preferred, but passionate and creative undergraduate students will be considered. The intern should have social media experience, be able to handle multiple tasks at the same time, and be able to work independently without significant oversight. Core tasks will include:

Job Location - Remote: APA internships may be considered for remote work eligibility as defined in APA’s Flexible Work Policy and are subject to approval. Remote work interns may not work from the following states or U.S. territories: Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Guam, Hawaii, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, U.S. Virgin Islands, Washington, Wyoming.
