What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct independent examinations of financial records for complex audits of large Fortune 500 companies
- Justify and defend audit findings through comprehensive reporting
- Communicate complex information concisely to stakeholders
- Investigate tax returns to identify potential understatements or overstatements
- Utilize various accounting systems to make complex tax determinations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or related field with at least 18 semester hours of accounting
- One year of experience as a Field Auditor I or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated experience in independent examination and analysis of sales and use tax or complex corporate returns
- Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal tax issues, auditing, and accounting principles
- Experience in justifying and defending audit findings
