What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct assessments of technology provisioned by vendors, partners, and third parties to determine IT security and compliance risks
- Train compliance analysts on operational procedures and collaborate with departments on corrective action plans
- Monitor compliance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Develop and maintain knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards related to IT compliance
- Communicate IT compliance policies, procedures, and standards to relevant stakeholders

What is Required (Qualifications):
- BA or BS in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, IT Security, business, or related field OR Associate degree and 2 years' experience in IT
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Information Technology, IT policy, compliance, security, legal, or governance role
- Good analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and typical business office capabilities
- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards related to IT compliance

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with compliance management software and tools
- Interpretation of NIST frameworks, specifically SP 800-53 and SP 800-171
- Familiarity with information security standards and frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, etc.
- Security certifications like CISSP, GIAC, or others
- Experience working in higher education
