      Position Summary:

      The IT Intern position is an entry level position assigned to work in an information technology discipline. Under close supervision, performs single-function tasks that tend to be of small to moderate size and scope. Consults with senior peers on IT projects to contribute to results and learn through experience.

      Essential Job Functions:

      - Based on guidance from more senior personnel, perform various IT related support activities

      - Assist with troubleshooting technology issues, technical analysis and providing solutions

      - Assist with IT work coordination and documentation generation and updates

      - Demonstrates Mercury’s core values of People, Service Excellence, Trustworthiness, Process Simplicity and Product Value

      - Cordially and professionally interacts with customers, vendors, superiors and co-workers

      - Regular attendance at work on a part-time schedule of at least 4 hours a day and 20 hours per week

      - Other functions may be assigned

      Education:

      - Currently enrolled in collegiate coursework at an accredited university; with an emphasis in Computer Science or Information Technology or related fields is preferred

      Experience:

      - Prior experience working in an office or team environment is preferred

      - Proficient at using personal computers and Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)

      Knowledge and Skills:

      - Results-oriented with a focus on customer needs and quality

      - Organized, with an ability to manage a variety of tasks and prioritize time-sensitive assignments

      - Detail-oriented with specific attention to the accuracy and quality of information

      - Technical aptitude and good problem solving skills

      - Excellent written and verbal communication skills

      - Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to thrive in a cross-functional matrix organization
