- Lead and be accountable for the identified agile product team
- Be accountable for robust product governance via PI planning, aligned to short- and long-term business and technology strategy needs
- Build and manage the product roadmap and secure necessary investments; manage product, TCO, budgets, and forecasts
- Implement a robust DevOps pipeline for the product using Amgen’s CI/CD frameworks and tools
- Drive a Product First attitude among the team and peers with a goal towards global expansion of the product’s capabilities
- Drive an attitude of excellence in running robust, reliable, and secure software products following Amgen’s software development, operating procedures, and organizational change requirements
- Unblock and drive engagement to improve results delivery for the team and the organization
- Drive external software product and service partners to deliver excellence
- Develop and mentor the team of engineers, architects, and others for higher performance, and individual career growth. Act as a role model demonstrating leadership behaviors
- Mentor the team in Agile product delivery; demonstrate and serve as a mentor for Lean-Agile Leadership
- Partner with leadership to define, develop, and implement technology solutions aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives, with a focus on increasing the effectiveness of the organization.
- Develop and implement multi-year strategic service and technology roadmaps and lead the team in executing the roadmaps.
- Establish and maintain successful relationships with internal DTI platform and shared services product teams, strategic external partners, industry bodies, in order to learn, influence, and attract the best talent.
- Experience as a technical platform or technical product manager for platforms like Salesforce, AWS, Tableau, Veeva Vault, etc.
- Significant technical experience developing & architecting technology solutions, managing complex IS projects, and driving multi-functional technology introduction and innovation in the life sciences industry.
- Excellent influencing skills and demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with business partners and collaborators, IS teams, and external service providers.
- Strong organizational planning and financial management skills.
- Good interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management.
- Experience with global computer system validation and regulatory requirements; understanding of health care compliance requirements and principles.
- Experience with or working knowledge of LEAN/AGILE software development methodologies and best practices, automated unit testing, DevOps.
- Ability to work in product management/development in a technical leadership capacity with experience in working across Product and Platform teams.
- Ability to think strategically about technology and recommend solutions that align with business strategy and achieve the greatest business impact.
- SAFe Certification(s) and Lean-Agile Leadership experience.

IT Senior Manager – R&D Veeva Vault Platform Owner

In this vital role, the Senior Manager will lead the R&D Veeva Vault Platform technical team that develops and implements technology strategies, solutions, and services to support Amgen’s R&D Veeva Vault Platform. As the Platform Owner, you will be the primary accountable lead for shared platform components and the overall platform, serving as the point of contact for individual Veeva Vault Product Owners (RIM Suite, PromoMats, eTMF, MedComms, Vault archival solution). This role will be responsible for all aspects of product vendor and platform performance management, roadmaps, implementation, and lifecycle management of shared platform capabilities. The Platform Owner will be responsible for developing and managing a hard-working Agile Product Team consisting of business analysts, software engineers, solution architects, system configurators, etc. This role will be based in our Thousand Oaks CA, Tampa FL, or remote.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience
OR
Master’s degree and 6 years of Information Systems experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Information Systems experience
OR
Associate’s degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience
Or
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience
And
2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
