- Serves within the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Information Operations (J6), Program Executive Office (J62), Enterprise Service Area Portfolio Management.
- Functions within a team environment to develop and/or integrate application software solutions that meet the logistics business needs of the DLA user community.
- Works with functional analysts and other developers to configure software and implement functional design to ensure solution is compatible with DLA architectural policy and directives and DLA systems architecture.
- Analyzes, designs, documents, develops, integrates, modifies, tests, installs, implements, and supports new or existing Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS}/Government off-the-shelf (GOTS} software.
- Participates with representatives from DLA, DoD, and military services in business planning/strategy sessions.

- Analyzes and documents user requirements to identify needs, evaluates technical feasibility, suggests alternate approaches, and develops solutions in terms of software design.
- Provides advice on the impacts, risks and risk mitigation of software development decisions, plans, schedules, designs and specifications.
- Investigates feasibility of alternate design approaches to determine which solution will best satisfy immediate user needs, facilitate later modification, conserve resources, determine suitability, quality, timeliness, and reduce costs.

Qualifications
To qualify for an IT Specialist (APPSW), your qualifications must include:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS- 12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
