      Position: Information Technology Technician
      Reports to: Information Technology Manager
      Department: Information Technology (IT)
      Purpose: The IT Technician will install and maintain computer systems and networks aiming for the highest functionality in our Planet Fitness retail locations. This position will also guide users of the systems to appropriately and safely use the IT infrastructure by following the required policies and procedures established by the Director of IT.
      Duties and Responsibilities:
      • Ensure compliance of Payment Card Industry (PCI) requirements, firewall system, and Wi-Fi network per Planet Fitness standards and recommendations at all locations owned and operated by Excel Fitness.
      • Utilize ticketing system to document and prioritize work by constantly monitoring and managing the tickets in queue and respond to requests in a timely fashion
      • Install and set up network, computers, and peripheral components at presale venues, new clubs, and for Regional Directors, Regional Managers, and other traveling corporate staff members.
      • Support, troubleshoot and maintain new technology implementation
      • Train and support users in new and existing IT systems, policies, and procedures
      • Troubleshoot phone, internet, Wi-Fi issues, audio/video, and security issues. Provides status updates and notifications of completion to the IT Manager and Director of IT.
      • Interface with third-party vendors and technicians
      • Record and maintain documentation of each club’s IT infrastructure / environment
      • Works closely with the IT Manager in administering end-use devices, software, and infrastructure support.
      Qualifications:
      • High School diploma or equivalent required
      • Must currently hold a valid state driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
      • At least 2 years of experience in hardware and software installation/integration is required
      • Fundamental understanding of computer networks and ability to identify, troubleshoot, and document network connectivity and performance issues.
      • Familiarity with software and hardware-based firewalls; anti-virus, anti-malware, and other associated technologies.
      • Excellent customer service skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills
      • Ability to convey information to internal and external customers in a clear, focused and concise manner.
      • Understanding of wireless devices and how to integrate them onto a network is preferred.
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
      • Exceptional time management skills and problem resolution skills
      • A+ Certification, Network + Certification, and Microsoft Certifications preferred

      Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
      Work Environment: This job operates remotely at fitness club locations in an assigned region and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, fax machines and phones. The noise level in the work environment is may be loud when in the club.
      Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
      While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
      The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee will be required to climb and stand on a ladder approximately 8 feet in height.
      Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, nonexempt position. A nonexempt employee is one who is entitled to the minimum wage and/or overtime pay protections of the FLSA. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
      Travel: 20-60% travel is expected for this position. Must be willing to travel based on company need to locations outside of assigned regions as required. Overnight trips will be necessary when traveling to assist with launching new clubs.
