      JOB TITLE: Floral Manager

      DEPARTMENT: Floral

      PURPOSE

      Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service. Reviews the status and appearance of the merchandise for freshness. Trains, coaches, supervises and evaluates Floral associates; maintains performance standards; supervises and participates in all Floral activities. Attains budgeted sales and profit goals of the Floral Department. Monitors and enforces all Government and Company regulations.

      WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

      Accountable and Reports to: Store Director, Asst. Store Director

      Positions that report to you: Floral Designer, Senior Floral Designer, Floral Clerk

      PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

      * Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.

      * Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the associate's designated department or elsewhere in the store.

      * Genuinely thanks each customer and invites them back.

      * Assists customers by: (examples include)

      o escorting them to the products they're looking for

      o securing products that are out of reach

      o loading or unloading heavy items

      o making note of and passing along customer suggestions or requests

      o performing other tasks in every way possible to enhance the shopping experience.

      * Directs and participates in all Floral activities, including but not limited to receiving, designing, packaging, displaying, maintaining, and ordering product in order to maximize sales, earnings, and customer satisfaction in the Floral Department and total store.

      * Attains budgeted sales and profit goals of the Floral Department.

      * Listens to customer complaints and resolves problems as appropriate.

      * Answers the department telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call including taking product orders.

      * Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.

      * Responsible for proper inventory control through ordering, processing, watering, pricing, and stocking.

      * Ensures an adequate product supply is ready and on hand and develops or follows a production list.

      * Anticipates product needs for the department on a daily basis.

      * Ensures proper merchandising of product by understanding schematics, merchandising of advertised items, proper signage procedures, and meeting customer demands.

      * Reviews the status and appearance of the product for freshness and replenishes and rotates product.

      * Plans and monitors production to control shrink and promote sales.

      * Builds and replenishes floral displays.

      * Designs and assembles fresh and silk floral arrangements.

      * Ensures total department remains organized according to "5S" standards.

      * Prepares and completes all daily bookwork, record keeping and documentation required by Company or Store Director.

      * Cleans all Floral equipment, merchandising vehicles and cases, floors, doors, walls and storage areas according to sanitation schedule and standards.

      * Removes trash in a timely manner.

      * Disassembles and flattens packing boxes and loads disassembled boxes into the baler.

      * Inflates balloons using helium tank for displays and customer requests.

      * Cuts, trims and wraps flowers and foliage as necessary.
