      JOB TITLE: Osco Liquor Manager DEPARTMENT: Osco/Liquor

      PURPOSE:

      Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service. To direct and control the operation of the Liquor Department.

      Trains, coaches and supervises associates; maintains performance standards; supervises and participates in all other Osco

      activities. Supervises Osco in the absence of the Store Director or Assistant Store Director. Evaluates, counsels, and

      recommends discipline regarding associate performance.

      WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

      Accountable and Reports to: Store Director, Asst. Store Director

      Positions that report to you: Osco Clerk, Osco Supervisor, Osco Specialists

      Positions to which you provide work direction: All Osco associates in absence of Store Director or Asst. Store Director

      PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

       Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting care concern and patience in all customer

      interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.

       Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the associate's designated

      department or elsewhere in the store.

       Genuinely thanks each customer and invites them back.

       Assists customers by: (examples include)

      o escorting them to the products they're looking for

      o securing products that are out of reach

      o loading or unloading heavy items

      o making note of and passing along customer suggestions or requests

      o performing other tasks in every way possible to enhance the shopping experience.

       Responsible for all liquor department activities, including but not limited to ordering and receiving product, stocking

      shelves, rotating/facing, and storing products in order to maximize sales, earnings, and customer satisfaction in the

      liquor department.

       Coordinates vendor activity at store level. Works with liquor sales representatives and vendors to drive profitable sales.

       Answers calls promptly when paged, and provides friendly, helpful service to customers.

       Listens to customer complaints and resolves problems as appropriate.

       Attains and has full responsibility for budgeted sales and profit goals (Profit & Loss) of the liquor department, prevents

      shrink.

       Engages in suggestive selling and other sales techniques also anticipates and plans for seasonal selling opportunities.

       Visits competitors to do competitive price/sales checks as directed by the Store Director.

       Prepares and completes daily bookwork, record keeping, and documentation required by the Company or the Store

      Director.

       Understands, accesses, and properly utilizes company information systems.

       Ensures proper merchandising of product in the liquor department by understanding and following schematics and

      merchandising of the weekly merchandising newsletter.

       Checks invoices against delivered products and supplies, placing them in designated product storage areas according to

      "5S" standards.

       Conditions liquor department shelves and displays by stocking, straightening, and facing merchandise.

       Ensures cleanliness in the department, displays, and storage areas according to sanitation schedule and standards.

       Ensures compliance with liquor sales laws.

       Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.

       Adheres to all company policies, procedures, Safety and Sanitation regulations, and individual store guidelines.

       Reports to work when scheduled and on time.

       Responsible for cost and quality control through ordering, pricing, and stocking, including tag and sign maintenance.

       Uses SPA gun to order product and maintain accurate inventory count in EOE system.

       Protects associates and customers by removing potential hazards from the sales floor and parking lot in a timely

      manner.

      SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS: (These are considered occasional in nature)

       Operates checkstand equipment such as cash register and scanner to process customer orders, bags customer orders. Is

      accountable for proper cash handling procedures and proper accounting of sales.

       Maintains performance standards for HBA, Photo, Seasonal, and OTC.

       Attends Company training meetings.

       Works with the Store Director and or Assistant Store Director to train and develop associates in proper store functions,

      policies, and new technology.

       Works with Store Director and or Assistant Store Director to conduct interviews and make hiring decisions.

       Performs other duties as required by the Store Director or Assistant Store Director.

      SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

       Monitors, complies with, and enforces Government and Company Safety and Sanitation regulations and wage and hour

      laws.

       Evaluates work performance of liquor department associates and recommends personnel action, such as retention,

      promotion, transfers, disciplinary action, or dismissal.

       Prepares weekly work schedule for department to ensure adequate coverage and service level while adhering to weekly

      sales and payroll budgets.

       Supervises, directs, motivates, coaches, trains, and assists all Osco associates in performing their duties.

       Supervises all Osco associates in the absence of the Store Director and the Assistant Store Director.

       Identifies disciplinary situations, recommends actions, and carries out disciplinary actions.

      SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB: (Physical demands outlined on attached PAR sheet)

       Must have full knowledge of liquor department products including alcohol types and content, as well as uses and care of

      the products. Requires an awareness of popular drink recipes.

       Must be 21 years of age to operate a register for liquor purchases.

       Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

       Solid communication skills at all levels.

       Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with multiple variables as they are presented.

       Ability to do simple addition, subtraction, counting, and recording.

       Must be able to understand and follow written, verbal or demonstrated instructions, write identifying information, and

      request supplies orally or in writing.

       Visual requirements include clarity of vision at a distance of less than 20 inches to less than 20 feet, with color vision and

      depth perception. Must be able to read the descriptions on the boxes and shelf tags to place merchandise in the proper

      locations.

       Must be able to work shifts varying in length and times, including nights, weekends and holidays.

       Ability to develop, cultivate, and maintain interpersonal relationships.

      WORKING CONDITIONS:

      The duties for this position are normally conducted in a store environment. Exposure to approximately 28 degrees

      Fahrenheit while handling products in the cooler. There is significant responsibility to maintain customer service levels and

      handle multiple priorities. The position involves sharp tools and is occasionally exposed to dust, cleaning chemicals, photo

      processing chemicals, and equipment movement hazards. This is a fast paced work environment where stressful situations

      are encountered.

      EQUIPMENT USED TO PERFORM JOB:

      Computer, printer, copier, fax machine, box cutter, stock cart or U‐Boat, Kodak picture printing equipment and chemicals,

      trash and cardboard compactors, intercom, pallet jack, forklift, power pallet jack, step ladder, riser ladder, dock plate and

      SPA gun.
