      Business Innovation (BI) Overview
      Business Innovation is the engine for transformative expansion of value for patients and Pfizer. BI integrates Commercial Strategy & Innovation, Pfizer CentreOne / Pfizer Ignite, Portfolio & Decision Analysis, Strategy & Consulting, and Worldwide Business Development. This constructive collaboration enables BI to create sustainable, industry-leading growth for Pfizer, and put more breakthrough medicines and vaccines in the hands of patients.

      Commercial Strategy & Innovation (CSI):
      Pfizer Commercial Strategy & Innovation serves as the single, accountable, cohesive commercial voice to Research, Clinical Development and Business Development functions responsible for end-to-end enterprise, Platform/Therapeutic Area/ Asset strategy, stewardship, and pipeline/ Business Development investment cases.
      CSI provides:

      • Purposeful clarity for enterprise portfolio strategy and roles of Therapeutic Areas, Platforms and Assets.
      • Synchronized end-to-end investment case focus, from Discovery through LOE, inclusive of pipeline & BD opportunities.
      • Faster, better decision-making, capital allocation and value creation.
      • CSI consists of six Category Teams (Oncology, Inflammation & Immunology, Internal Medicine, Rare Disease, Vaccines & Infectious Disease and Hospital), as well as three centers of excellence (Business Assessment, Competitive Intelligence, Commercial Planning).

      Portfolio & Decision Analysis (PDA) - Maximizing the R&D Pipeline:
      The Portfolio and Decision Analysis group, is part of the Business Innovation (BI) organization, is responsible for driving rigorous analyses and generating competitive insights to enable R&D investment decisions that maximize pipeline value and enable Pfizer’s long-term strategy. In addition to building and maintaining robust economic valuations for more than 100 R&D projects, PDA oversees overall portfolio health and sustainability for Pfizer. This role involves working in close collaboration with Asset Teams (e.g., clinical development, commercial development, operations, finance, regulatory, pricing & market access) and senior leaders to identify strategic issues, facilitate discussion, and implement qualitative and/or quantitative analyses to inform decision-making.

      Strategy & Consulting (S&C) - Purpose-Driven Growth:
      The Strategy & Consulting (S&C) team leads the development of holistic business strategies across Corporate, Commercial and R&D to enable Pfizer’s purpose-driven growth agenda. The team leads a portfolio of growth and innovation-oriented strategic initiatives and engage primarily with senior leadership across Pfizer’s various business units.
