Job Title: Journeyman (Overhead) Crane Operator

Job Description

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Journeyman Crane Operator (Overhead Crane) is responsible for shipping, receiving, and storage of product materials and supplies. The Crane Operator loads large vessel tanks for testing, loads tanks for shipping, and organizes and cleans the stockyard area as required. Tanks will need to be moved from the molding department to the finishing and assembly departments, and then to the QC department for final checks.

Essential Skills

• Overhead crane operation
• Overhead crane rigging
• Alberta Journeyman Crane Certification
• Valid CDL driver’s license
• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; suitable experience may be considered in lieu of the education requirement
• Minimum 1 year of forklift and crane operations experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations
• Physical capabilities include bending, crouching, kneeling, and the ability to stand for extended periods of time

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with a zoom boom, knuckle boom, skid steer, and scissor lift is an asset
• Ability to read and follow blueprints and drawings is an asset

Work Environment

The work environment is a loud and somewhat dusty plant. Vessels are exceptionally large, and safety is of the utmost importance in this role.

Shift is Monday to Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm.

The pay range for this position is $50.06 - $50.06/hr.
