What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Maintain the Juvenile Rehabilitation Services portfolio, accounting for over $175M of the operating budget
- Design forecast models to predict expenditure volume and trends in juvenile rehabilitation programs
- Aggregate data into tables, charts, and statistical measures of outcomes
- Present research findings and recommendations to internal staff, other agencies, and external organizations
- Facilitate meetings and collaborate with stakeholders regarding fiscal impacts of policies
What is Required (Qualifications):
- A Bachelor's degree in finance, statistics, mathematics, economics, or a related field, AND five (5) years in financial/budget forecasting or advanced analysis
- Demonstrated proficiency in SQL and experience with large data sets
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency in at least one statistical tool such as R, Python, SAS, or similar
- Experience with advanced statistical modeling techniques
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Familiarity with the Agency Financial Reporting System (AFRS) Data and reporting platforms
- Experience with Washington State Financial in public budgeting and/or accounting
- Ability to translate policy and budgetary needs into SQL queries
- Experience with advanced statistical modeling techniques
