      Summary and Qualifications

      Summary of Position

      The ideal person for this role will have a positive, energetic personality who connects well with adults and children from all backgrounds. They will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the children’s ministry, ages birth through 4th grade at the Brier Creek Campus. This person must have experience in teaching, leading/recruiting volunteers, and be someone who is passionate about reaching the next generation. Most importantly, they should be a follower of Jesus Christ and demonstrate a life that is being transformed by Jesus.

      They will support the goals and vision of the Summit Kids Ministry in partnering with families to help kids know Jesus, grow in faith, and build lasting friendships.

      Qualifications and Requirements

      • Leadership skills
      • Volunteer recruiting, training, and support
      • Must possess a proven ability to work effectively with children, parents and caregivers, diverse individuals, and volunteer teams
      • Able to lead large volunteer teams
      • Problem solving ability
      • Pace setter in areas such as character, evangelism, and kids ministry
      • A member of The Summit Church or willing and able to become a member

      Responsibilities

      Responsibilities

      • Weekend Summit Kids Experience: Create an exciting environment on the weekend for kids to be discipled.
        • Organizing and communicating to the volunteers so that there are the proper number of trained and qualified leaders in each classroom.
        • Ensuring volunteers have everything they need in order to have a successful weekend as defined in the Summit Kids EPOD.
        • Creating a welcoming and engaging atmosphere for guests and families.
        • Executing the mission and vision of Summit Kids at the Brier Creek Campus.
      • Leadership of Volunteers
        • Recruiting new volunteers on a consistent basis.
        • Training the volunteers on a consistent basis for their task in the kids' ministry so that they are well equipped
        • Leading the volunteers in love and appreciation so burnout is avoided
        • Build a group of committed Team Leaders.
      • Encouraging the Families of the Brier Creek Campus
        • Build relationships with the families who bring their children to Summit Kids
        • Be a part of helping new families find a home at Summit through relationships, small groups, serving, membership, etc.
        • Be a first responder to parents with questions about anything in Summit Kids
        • Lead the partnership with families by pursuing Milestone Events (Parent Commissioning, Gospel & Baptism Class, Family Mission Trips)
        • Deal with difficult discipline and/or care cases in classrooms
        • Equip & resource your parents to be the primary disciplers of their kids
      • Other Responsibilities
        • Attend weekly campus staff meetings & monthly All-Staff meetings
        • Attend bi-weekly Summit Kids staff meetings
        • Help to follow up with First Time Guests
        • Assist in the overall health of the campus
        • Serve at large events in Summit Kids (Christmas Services, VBS, Kids Camp, All-Campus Prayer Nights, etc.)
        • Contribute to Central Summit Kids

      Churchwide Events

      The hours for this position are expected to be 40 hours per week. As one church that meets in many locations, there are several times throughout the year that Summit holds church-wide events in an effort to do whatever it takes to reach all people. All staff members are expected to serve at these church-wide events regardless of the positions they hold.

      Such events include, but are not limited to: Easter services, church-wide prayer meetings, Good Friday service, and Christmas services. Serving expectations will be communicated in advance of each event
