      Main duties of the job

      The Kitchen Assistant will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of all kitchen processes, working closely with the Cook and the wider catering team. This includes creating menus, plating up, arranging trolleys, and ensuring each resident feels directly supported and looked after with the highest quality of care. The role requires a mindfulness and consciousness of individual religious and cultural backgrounds, and the ability to ensure that all residents feel they have a personalized service. The Kitchen Assistant will be the critical link between the kitchen and the serving areas, and will be jointly responsible for caring for the residents and ensuring that mealtimes are an enjoyable experience.

These will include creating menus, plating up, arranging trollies, and ensuring each of our residents feel directly supported and looked after with the highest quality of support and care.

      Whilst you will be involved in all the practical duties you would expect in a busy care home kitchen it is vitally important to continuously ensure that you are mindful and conscious to individual religious and cultural backgrounds and how this might impact on meal choices, alongside making sure that all our residents feel they have a personalised service.

      As the critical link between the kitchen and the serving areas you will be conjointly responsible for caring for our residents. The key focus for us is ensuring mealtimes run smoothly and are an enjoyable experience at Akari Care, where all of our residents individual needs are catered for.
