      In this position, you will perform technical laboratory procedures, analyze data, and report results to be used for the diagnosis and treatment of disease resulting in the provision of quality patient care and to assure and improve laboratory customer satisfaction. No Experience? We provide paid training! Have experience? You may qualify for higher pay!

      Under the direction of the Phlebotomy Supervisor, performs and demonstrates proficiency and understanding in one or more areas of the clinical laboratory, assists in instructing other personnel as assigned, and performs with a perceptive depth of clinical laboratory tests and procedures which require the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility.

      Responsibilities:

      • Performs EKG's (site specific) and specimen collection on adult and pediatric patients including venous, capillary, blood culture and additional methods.
      • Orders laboratory tests in the Laboratory Information System, processes, files requisitions, distributes reports, and processes test results that were referred to other reference laboratories.
      • Prepares specimens for referred testing and maintains documentation
      • Participates in continuing education
      • Demonstrates commitment to team, flexibility, communication, critical thinking, and customer service skills

      Scheduled hours for this position:

      • Variable hours. Days, evenings and weekends as schedule needs.

      Education:

      • High school diploma or equivalent, required.

      Experience:

      • Two years of pertinent experience, preferred.

      Skills:

      • Required to provide high-quality phlebotomy for patients in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.
      • Accuracy in using Laboratory computer system is required.
      • Must be able to prioritize work, write clearly, and perform work accurately.
      • Strong telephone and communication skills are required.

      Physical Requirements:

      • Must be able identify and differentiate colors.
      • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient's status.
