LA Testing is seeking a Laboratory Analyst (Chemistry/IH) in Huntington Beach, CA. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze environmental, lead, and industrial hygiene chemistry samples
Prepare and analyze inorganic / organic bulk sample matrices using EPA methods
Sample prep methods including acid digestion, organic extraction, inorganic digestion, appropriate batch QC and standards
Support all sample-related activities, including preservation, preparation, and disposal
Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed
Generate analytical reports and enter data into LIMS system
Perform quality control practices per company Quality Assurance/Quality Control manual
Administrative duties including sample login and data entry, scanning and emailing reports and answering phones
Cross training in various instrumentation
Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related science required
1 year work experience
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Previous experience with analytical chemistry instrumentation is a plus
Some laboratory experience either in academic or commercial setting is a plus
Basic math skills related to analytical chemistry
Ability to distinguish colors in order to perform analysis
Physical requirements include the ability sit and stand for various lengths of time
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability and a positive attitude
Effective time management, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize with minimal assistance
Available Shift:
Position is full time, Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
