Comply, understand, and promote safety initiatives to ensure “Safety Before All Else.”
Manage land use entitlements and permitting processes for active and future operations, ensuring regulatory compliance at the local, state and federal levels.
Engage, develop and maintain relationships with regulatory, environmental, and other community leaders.
Engage on legislative and regulatory matters by providing input on land use and environmental laws.
Manage risks and protect/enhance the value of Graniterock’s real property assets.
Assist in the monitoring of public meetings for land use initiatives in our region that could impact Graniterock properties or operations
Monitor and provide comments on local, regional, state and federal land use plans that may have an impact on Graniterock’s land holdings
Regularly visit project sites and landholdings to meet directly with utility providers, adjacent property owners, and leaseholders to resolve issues, gather input, and maintain positive working relationships.
Serve as the face of Graniterock in field meetings with regulatory agencies, community stakeholders, and partner organizations.
Evaluate and help implement long-term strategies for Graniterock’s land assets, including development, reclamation, leasing, and conservation goals.
Collaborate with Construction, Legal, Environmental, and Property teams to align land use efforts with operational needs.
Bachelor’s Degree in Land Use Planning, Environmental focus, Civil Engineering or other related fields
3+ years’ experience in Land Use Planning or Civil Engineering
Excellent communication skills, and ability to interface effectively with all levels of management, regulators, business professionals, and political leaders.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and within teams.
Knowledgeable in Zoning and General Plan Designation
Able to review EIR documents to evaluate potential impacts to Graniterock
Familiar with Land Use/Regulatory permitting
General Summary
This position is accountable for the effective stewardship of Graniterock’s land assets by securing permits, managing land use issues, and building trusted, in-person relationships with utilities, neighbors, and leaseholders. This role ensures our operations remain compliant, sustainable, and aligned with long-term strategic use of the land while ensuring alignment with Graniterock’s Family Vision, Core Purpose, Core Values, Strategic priorities, and business objectives.
