      Position Details

      $4,000 RETENTION BONUS offered for this full-time position providing residence cleaning and laundry services.

      Pay rate: $15.50 per hour.

      Shift schedule hours: 2:30pm - 11pm.

      We are seeking a full-time team member to join our environmental services team assuring that our Senior Living Grand Rapids Community is maintained in a clean, safe manner by performing laundry tasks. Our team does work a weekend rotation so that our amazing residents have continuity in services and have a clean & welcoming home. Please know there can be some flexibility as to when a shift begins and ends, as long as the 8 hours is covered each day.

      Job Summary

      Performs day-to-day laundry functions and distribution of garments per procedures and as assigned.

      Duties and Responsibilities

    • Collect soiled linen, garments, etc., from designated area.
    • Sort soiled linen, garments, etc., and separate items that require special stain removal/treatment.
    • Wash and dry linen, garments, etc.
    • Press/iron garments as instructed.
    • Fold, count, stack, hang and distribute clean laundry, linen, garments to residents or as directed.
    • Ensure residents' garments are labeled.
    • Maintain laundry room cleanliness by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, etc.
    • Discard waste/trash into proper containers.

      Job Qualifications

      Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification

      • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

      Experience

      • Previous experience in a laundry capacity preferred.

      Knowledge Skills and Abilities

      • Ability to display compassion and sensitivity with vulnerable adults who may become angry, hostile or combative.
      • Ability to speak, read and write English.
      • Ability to effectively work in a team environment.

      Physical and Mental Requirements

      • Ability to determine color differences and types of fabric.
      • Ability to lift and transport soiled/clean laundry up to 30 pounds.
      • Subjected to infectious waste, cleaning agents and disinfectants.
