      Job Description

      LEAD AUDITOR, DECK

      7-month Term

      Victoria

      The opportunity

      As a leader in safety and an agent of change, you audit and provide both strategic and day-to-day guidance, support and direction to employees fleet-wide. Reporting to Executive Director, Safety, Health & Security, you are responsible for monitoring and evaluating fleet-wide: practices, services, procedures and systems in order to ensure compliance with legislation and corporate policy relating to safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

      You conduct ISM and WorkSafe BC COR Audits and physical audits as required by relevant Corporate or legislative procedures or policies and assist with the implementation of the ISM Code and other legislative procedures as required. You identifying organizational incident trends, consults with Senior Executive, and develop corrective actions documenting compliance with Corporate and legislative procedures and policies.

      You also assists with formal inquiries to determine cause and establish any contravention of statue or recognized standard clarifying liability and directing remedial tracking. As well as providing guidance on regarding the implications of regulatory policy changes, and issues such as Safety Training, Emergency Preparedness and vessel maintenance.

      What you bring to the team

      You have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field supplemented with various OSH courses and Lead Auditor Training (ISM or ISO). You hold a certificate as a Master with a minimum of 5 years’ experience working with Maritime Regulatory compliance involving ISO/SMS/ISM. You also have a minimum of 5 years’ experience conducting site audits in the marine transportation industry.

      Additional information

      The target salary range: $140,400 - $175,600 per annum. The starting salary is determined based on the successful candidate’s knowledge, experience and internal equity. Starting salary may exceed the target range on exceptional basis.
