      As Lead Banista, youu2019re not just handing out bananasu2014youu2019re running the entire operation. Youu2019ll be managing inventory, ordering supplies, tracking daily metrics, scheduling your team, and jumping into action whenever something needs solving. Most importantly, youu2019ll set the toneu2014bringing energy, warmth, and leadership to every shift. Youu2019ll be the reason people walk away with more than just a bananau2014theyu2019ll walk away feeling seen, welcomed, and energized.

      Youu2019ll work across stands located on campus Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:45 PM, with the occasional evening, weekend, or offsite event as needed.       What You Will Do

      Lead Specific Responsibilitiesu00A0u00A0u00A0u00A0

      • Lead daily operations of the banana stand and ensure smooth workflow.
      • Serve as the go-to for deliveries, issues, and quick problem-solving.
      • Enforce team adherence to standards and policies.
      • Report shift issues promptly to Leadership.
      • Track hourly metrics and assist with data collection.
      • Liaise with leadership, property management, janitorial, and security teams.
      • Build strong relationships with the community and stakeholders.
      • Manage scheduling, including breaks, PTO, and coverage.
      • Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing Banista training.
      • Conduct monthly inventory checks on uniforms and equipment.

      Daily Banana Stand Responsibilities u00A0u00A0u00A0u00A0

      • Arrive on time, ready to work in your Banista uniform.
      • Set up and tear down the stand, keeping everything organized and in place.
      • Greet every visitor warmly with 5-star professionalism.
      • Play upbeat, work-appropriate music during operating hours.
      • Unload and separate bananas, removing any plastic or damaged fruit.
      • Keep crates fully stocked throughout the day and manage compost bins.
      • Maintain a clean, inviting, and well-decorated stand for holidays and events.
      • Track daily metrics on distribution, compost, and feedback using tracking software.
      • Record visitor comments and flag urgent issues to supervisors immediately.
      • Know banana facts and FAQs to engage visitors.
      • Follow schedules while adapting quickly to unexpected requests.
      • Monitor for security concerns and follow escalation protocols.
      • Work across multiple stand locations (including offsite), Mondayu2013Friday, 7:00 AMu20133:45u00A0PM, with occasional evenings and weekends.
      • Cross-train on reception duties like posting materials and supply distribution.

      Who You Are
      • GED or high school diploma required
      • Excellent communication skillsu00A0preferred.
        Experience using MS Office suite of products preferred.
      • Experience leading people in the workplace.
      • Experience working in public facing roles or community facing engagement roles.
      • Experience involving extensive interactions with the public and building partnerships with other vendor partners.
      • Excellent interpersonal skills with a polite, professional communication style.
      • Positive, upbeat attitude and the ability to work well with all personality types.
      • Reliable, punctual, and highly organized.
      • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
      • Strong commitment to Northwest Centeru2019s mission of inclusion and success in diverse environments.
      • Consistently strong attendance and performance history.
      • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division up to 3 digits).
      • Ability to retain training content and recognize daily trends (e.g., banana distribution).
      • Proficient in MS Windows, Excel, and Outlook.
      • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
      • Skilled in clear communication with leadership, co-workers, and visitors.
      • Able to interpret and follow company and client policies and procedures.
      • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
      • Calm and professional under pressure, including during emergencies or difficult interactions.
      • High attention to detail and accuracy.
      • Exercises good judgment and can identify or assist in finding solutions.

      Working Conditions and Physical Demands
      • Must be able to frequently carry and lift a backpack containing a laptop and other supplies, up to 50 pounds.
      • May need to carry supplies to other buildings.
      • Ability to walk consistently within a 1.5 radius is required.
      • Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language
      • Ability to see both distance and details at close range, within a few feet of the observer (with or without corrective lenses).
      • Ability to identify and understand the speech of another person (with or without a personal auditory hearing device).
      • This is a dog friendly environment with over 1000 dogs on campus. Individuals with dog allergies or those who do not particularly care for dogs may not be the best fit.
      • Must be able to stand and/or sit outdoors in all weather conditions above 35 degrees Fahrenheit for 2 to 4 hours at a time and up to 8 hours for the day.
      • Must be able to handle bananas and/or various food products without allergic reaction.
      • Could be conditions below 40 degrees for up 3 hours.
      • Must be able to lift bananas and stack boxes up to 50 lbs.
