- Establish and mature Business analysis and Testing capabilities for Technology projects. Support, guide, train, monitor and govern technology capabilities.
- Act as a subject matter expert for Business Analysis and Testing capabilities within Technology. Establish standards, procedures, etc. for these functions.
- Coach and mentor others on these capabilities as well as lead directly, as needed, on more complex technology projects. Focused on providing leadership and advising various teams/projects.
- Establish program level metrics for these capabilities to determine success and guide leads in key practice areas on establishing practice metrics.
- Where standards or procedures have gaps, resolve and ensure teams are aware of the standards and procedures to be followed for these functions and that they are kept up to date
- Facilitating requirement development sessions; demonstrating extensive experience in facilitating workshops involving multiple business stakeholders across different business areas/ teams aiming to reach consensus on requirements and solutions collaboratively.
- Leading project testing - identifying test strategies, develop test plans, coordinate testing phase, document issues and work with vendors/team members to address them (defect management).
- Identifying and documenting gaps and decision points in current processes, facilitate resolutions
- Developing the testing policy and standard for Technology and maintaining operationally.
- Validating adherence of project testing plans to the testing policy and standard, maintain compliance documentation.
- Identifying if there are any testing capability resource skill gaps, developing and delivering training as required to improve capability.
- Identifying tools for testing reporting and management and coaching project teams on how to use those tools as required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills working closely with team members and managers, and effectively manage problems as they occur.
- Act as the primary lead for these functions within Technology. Ensure processes and standards are understood and adhered to.
- Manage the daily activities and needs of an entire team leveraging ability to multitask and effectively manage time.
- Utilize requirement analysis techniques such as Business Process Automation, Business Process Improvement, and Business Process Re-engineering. Document Business Processes. Identify and implement process improvement initiatives.
- Develop IT testing standards following industry best practices, ensure project teams comply with testing standards.
- Be prepared to work through and resolve minor issues without Project Manager assistance.
- Handle the stress of unexpected challenges, help the project manager to keep the entire team staying positive and motivated.
- Minimum 7-10 years of business analysis experience
- IT experience is an asset.
The Lead Business Analyst is a lead role responsible to set the standards and mature the Business Analysis and Testing function capabilities for Technology projects. They may also perform the standard functions of the Business Analyst by identifying and prioritizing technical and functional requirements, getting feedback and approval on requirements, building use cases, documenting business processes and translating business process model to technical realization. In addition, the role includes Test Lead functions by developing, implementing, and maintaining the testing policy/standard incorporating testing best practices and validating adherence to them across IT.
