      About this role:

      Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Compliance Officer as part of the Compliance team for the Consumer, Small and Business Banking Marketing organization. This role, as part of Independent Risk Management, will support execution of the Compliance Program Framework.

      In this role, you will:

      • Provide oversight and monitoring of business group risk-based compliance programs

      • Maintain compliance risk expertise and consulting for projects and initiatives with moderate to high risk, over multiple business lines

      • Establish, implement and maintain risk standards and programs to drive compliance with federal, state, agency, legal and regulatory and Corporate Policy requirements

      • Oversee the Front Line's execution and challenges appropriately on compliance related decisions

      • Develop, oversee, and provide independent credible challenge to standards with subject matter expertise

      • Provide direction to the business on developing corrective action plans and effectively managing regulatory change

      • Report findings and make recommendations to management and appropriate committees

      • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development

      • Receive direction from leaders and exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements

      • Monitor the reporting, escalation, and timely remediation of issues, deficiencies or regulatory matters regarding compliance risk management

      • Oversee the Front Line's execution and challenges appropriately on compliance related decisions

      • Make decisions and resolve issues to meet business objectives

      • Interpret policies, procedures, and compliance requirements

      • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

      • Work with complex business units, rules and regulations on moderate to high risk compliance matters

      • Interface with Audit, Legal, external agencies, and regulatory bodies on risk related topics


      Required Qualifications:

      • 5+ years of Compliance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


      Desired Qualifications:

      • A BS/BA degree or higher

      • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation

      • Exceptional Microsoft Office skills

      • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including business writing skills and an ability to succinctly communicate regulatory guidance to management and key stakeholders

      • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

      • Familiarity with Consumer and Small Business banking products and standard offer constructs


      Job Expectations:

      • Ability to provide regulatory compliance focused guidance to business partners on consumer financial laws and regulations impacting marketing activities across channels.

      • Ability to effectively conduct detailed Compliance risk assessments and participate in business Risk and Control Self-Assessment activities.

      • Ability to evaluate new regulatory requirements and assess applicability to business processes.

      • Ability to review and credibly challenge Issues and Corrective Actions with Compliance risk and participate in required Issue lifecycle routines.

      • Ability to develop new Compliance Monitoring Activities, including data driven monitoring routines, to ensure awareness of trends and oversee related Compliance risks.

      • Ability to collaborate with business partners and provide guidance on Risk Programs implementation to meet Compliance Program Policy requirements as well as participate in ongoing risk management practices.

      • Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions in a complex organizational environment and prioritize workload to meet objectives.

      Pay Range

      Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

      $111,100.00 - $197,500.00
