- Lead complex initiatives designed to mitigate current and emerging risks with broad impact
- Act as key participant in monitoring, evaluating, and measuring the impact of decisions practiced in Control Management functional area
- Engage with all levels of roles across the portfolio group, and serve as an experienced advisor in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies, business processes, and controls that mitigate risks and address regulatory requirements
- Monitor moderately complex business specific programs & products, and provide risk management consulting to support in designing and implementing risk-mitigation strategies
- Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report on the impact of decisions and controls to the relevant business group or functional area
- Develop and implement risk monitoring and risk reporting processes and controls
- Collaborate with relevant business group or functional area to identify current and emerging risks associated with business activities and operations, and provide guidance in developing and implementing risk-mitigating strategies
- Partner with lines of defense, Operations Risk, internal audit and technology leaders to execute governance and accountability across WFT initiatives
- Escalate issues/risks to initiative leads and/or CIO teams to ensure timely resolution and well in advance of execution plan end dates
- 5+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 5+ years strong control evaluation/testing and/or Audit experience
- 2+ years of ServiceNow experience in one or a combination of the following: building, implementing, maintaining platform technologies.
- Prior experience in risk process improvement, standardization and automation of business and control processes, quality assurance and control routines, and risk and control metrics and reporting.
- Comprehensive understanding of risk types, methodologies, and frameworks for evaluating or testing controls and assessing results, and identifying control deficiencies
- Knowledge and understanding on Control Programs including Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), executing the RCSA (risk identification, risk assessment - inherent/residual, and control design and Issue Management.
- Experience across enterprise risk management framework, including: risk identification, risk appetite and strategy, risk-related decisions, processes and controls, risk analytics governance, risk assessment and control design
- Direct experience with Issue Management Life Cycle and issue & corrective action remediation
- Track record of providing constructive challenge with appropriate escalation, root cause analysis and offering solution
- Experience assessing control design and performance through testing, audit or Risk Control Self-Assessment practices
- Comprehensive understanding of operational risk management in the financial services or other highly regulated industries
- Experience in assessing risk, reviewing risk ratings, identifying control gaps and determining the appropriate evaluation methodology.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
- Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of customers, team members and management

About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Control Management Officer who will serve as the Business Control Manager (BCM) for Enterprise Functions Technology responsible for Enterprise Shared Services (ESS) which includes supporting ServiceNow portfolio. The Lead Control Management Officer will focus on high priority initiatives & book of work portfolio aligned to Enterprise Shared Services (ESS). This includes managing control activities across the portfolio.
