      Position Overview

      Critical Facilities Engineers are members of the Critical Facility Engineering team that play a crucial role in maintaining the overall health of our data center’s infrastructure systems to ensure that our customers receive best-in-class data center services. The Critical Facility Engineers at Vantage manage vital electrical and mechanical infrastructure as part of our daily operation and possess expertise in mission critical facility management. Responsibilities include facility maintenance and capacity management, performance optimization, providing rapid response and performing repairs when unplanned events occur.

      About the Opportunity

      We are seeking a self-motivated Critical Facility Engineering Lead to join our Site Operations team at Vantage Data Centers located in Cyberjaya, Kuala Lumpur, reporting to the Manager Chief Engineer. You will need to be hands-on, have an eye for detail, and be able to work closely with engineering and various support teams to solve problems and ensure the team’s compliance to management system requirements

      About You

      Ideally, you'll have these skills, qualifications, and characteristics:

      • Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant discipline

      • Registered local Government certification to perform electrical switching and/or mechanical services operations

      • 4-5 years working experience in building, electrical and / or HVAC operation and maintenance

      • Working knowledge of operating, maintaining, repairing, inspecting, and testing of electrical distribution systems including generators and UPS systems, and or HVAC systems, and or Fire Systems and or building management/automation systems.

      • Skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and other office applications

      • Ability to use building automation systems (BMS/CMMS), with a proficiency in design and technical documentation applications (AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Procore)

      • When required, cover shift duties, weekends, public holidays and be on stand-by for emergency response.

      • Prepared to wear PPE and working in extreme conditions

      • Hands-on experience in maintenance/repair on Facilities, Machinery or equivalent and be familiar with maintaining schedules and working with vendors

      • Be assertive, committed, and able to perform multiple tasks independently and efficiently

      • Be a team player with effective communication skills, able to interact with clients, consultants, subcontractors, Government authorities and team from all levels

      Your Duties and Responsibilities

      Key aspects:

      • Provide emergency standby duty for 24-hour, 7 day a week mission-critical data center operation

      • Ensure the facility state is monitored daily, capturing parameters such as power availability, temperature and humidity, alarm status, etc., to identify discrepancies and trends.

      • Oversee and support testing, inspection, and validation of critical equipment and technical systems, spares, plant, and facilities.

      • Ensure that maintenance activities are planned, prepared, executed, and reported to the highest standard possible with a focus on reliability, energy efficiency and continuity of services.

      • Demonstrate periodic site-specific crisis management drills are improving the team’s ability to respond effectively in the event of an unplanned change of state.

      • Ensure that the infrastructure is fully reliable with a focus on energy efficiency and continuity of services

      • Provide electrical solutions and perform switching operations for planned and unplanned events

      • Perform periodic technical and quality reviews of documentation to ensure that the latest technology and safety guidelines are being used and to ensure compliance with Government regulations.

      • Monitor, assess and manage the load capacities of critical infrastructure to prevent overload conditions during the failover between primary and redundant systems.

      • Maintain and ensure that the Team has a thorough understanding of the critical infrastructure design intent, the sequence of operations, the fault conditions, and the corrective actions associated with them.

      • Maintain and achieve availability targets for data centers and technical infrastructure across all Vantage Data Center facilities.

      • Assist post-event analysis, including compilation of reports and the identification of root causes, lessons learned and mitigation and remediation activities to address the issues in a timely manner.

      • Review and approve Change Records, Work Orders, and associated schedules for upcoming planned work
