- Primary development of SQL queries and solutions to meet the day to day needs of the business and analytical community as necessary.
- Architect, develop, implement, maintain, and enhance full cycle data services – integration/transport, processing and/or visualization – to support the analytic needs of business clients.
- Consult with and provide technical direction to business partners and IT peer teams regarding data requirements, design, processes, and technical solutions.
- Lead, build and implement Data Visualization projects that communicate insights for business consumption.
- Design and build data models that support Power BI and Datamart environments.
- Set up and ongoing operational support of ETL environments including development, testing and production.
- Collaborate with other Data Engineers around the company to build knowledge of existing data assets to prepare for continuity of institutional knowledge.
- Steward Data within the supported organization.
- Create clear documentation of workflows, process flows, and methodologies used.
- Holistic problem engineering.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field.
- Strong background in the Marketing Analytics and Customer Strategy disciplines.
- 3+ years designing and implementing large scale data loading, manipulation, processing, analysis and exploring solutions.
- 3+ years of Power BI development and visualization design and implementation.
- Advanced knowledge of data modeling, data architecture, data security, and data governance practices.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL, Alteryx, SQL Server, Snowflake, Oracle, Power BI.
- Strong background in Python.
- Fluency in DAX and Power Query/M Query.
- Knowledge of Power Automate and complementary tools.
- Skills in ESRI and Spatial Analysis preferred.
- Experience using Bitbucket and Sourcetree.
- Ability to assemble and work with large datasets from disparate data sources.
- Strong communication skills with an ability to communicate technical material in business terms.
- Domain knowledge in the utilities industry preferred.

National Grid is hiring a Lead Data & Visualization Engineer, Brooklyn, NY
This is a Hybrid Role - Must live within a commutable distance to our Brooklyn, NY office.
Job Purpose
CES Data & Analytics supports the Customer Experience Strategy & Planning function of the company by drawing insight from internal and external data and communicating that insight to promote a step change in company culture and the overall National Grid Customer Experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating in a DevOps environment and using their knowledge to architect, build and maintain data pipelines to facilitate the extraction, transformation, and ingestion of data to be staged within Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server and Power Bi databases. Operationalization of end-to-end solutions running in an unattended fashion will be paramount. The incumbent will further be responsible for the creation, operationalization and maintenance of Power BI dashboards for use by the business.

$134,000 - $158,000 a year
Salary commensurate with location and experienceThis position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
