      Overview:

      As a seasoned leader within our Customer Success team, the Lead DevOps Engineer plays a central role in steering our Agile transformation. This leadership position involves not only showcasing exceptional technical prowess but also inspiring and guiding less experienced team members. Beyond technical excellence, this role focuses on fostering collaboration, building bridges with supported tribes, and collecting valuable feedback from both technical teams and upper management.

      The position encompasses the responsibilities of a DevOps Engineer, contributing to the DevOps maturity roadmap & Release Orchestration adoption, steering architectural patterns, and championing the adoption of Tooling Services.

      Responsibilities:

      DevOps Transformation and Acceleration:

      Support our Agile transformation by closely collaborating with cross-functional squads, accelerating software delivery for internal customers.

      Apply a visionary DevOps perspective and extensive technical expertise to streamline the software delivery process, ensuring alignment with customer needs and fostering their success.

      Lead the integration of Security and Agile linkages and controls within the delivery flow, ensuring a seamless and secure process.

      Lead DevOps Engineer, Designer, and Mentor:

      • Play a pivotal role as a lead DevOps Engineer, designer, and mentor, providing guidance and inspiration to less experienced team members.
      • Leverage your profound technical knowledge while exploring innovative processes, products, and technologies.
      • Collaborate closely with squads and engineers, offering strategic input to shape the continuous delivery pipeline's evolution.

      Customer Success Responsibilities:

      • Contribute strategic insights to the product tribes' DevOps maturity roadmap, aligning it with customer needs and industry best practices.
      • Drive the formulation of tribe pipeline blueprints, advocating for common architectural patterns to enhance consistency and efficiency.
      • Drive the adoption of the release orchestration pipelines, ensuring compliance with our Swift standards and secured principles.
      • Champion the adoption of Tooling Services, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and expectations.
      • Cultivate engagement with DevOps champions, fostering a vibrant community of practice.
      • Serve as the articulate voice of the customer from the product tribes to the Tooling tribe, effectively communicating customer feedback and requirements.
      • Act as a proxy between Tooling tribe and the assigned product tribe. Work closely with engineers of the supported tribes to get a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of their technical landscape.

      Customer-Centric Leadership:

      • Drive a customer-centric approach across all DevOps practices, ensuring alignment with customer success.
      • Actively engage with internal customers, comprehending their software delivery needs, and tailor DevOps solutions to drive their success.
      • Foster collaboration, build trust, and serve as a liaison between technical teams and upper management.

      Strategic Contributions:

      • Lead the streamlining and automation of software delivery pipelines, actively participating in architecture, design, development, testing, installation/roll-out, and continuous improvement.
      • Collaborate with squads to integrate controls in the pipeline, promoting "compliance-as-code" principles.
      • Assess challenges faced by teams and define actionable strategies to enhance DevOps practices within each team or squad.
      • Validate measures for improving DevOps practices on an ongoing basis.
      • Act as a reservoir of knowledge, collecting, promoting, and evangelizing best practices across squads.
      • Conduct routine demos and solution presentations to teams across various locations, accommodating flexible timing based on global time zone needs.

      Qualifications:

      • At least 7 years of experience in IT automation projects, showcasing leadership for 2 years with a focus on SDLC pipelines.
      • Extensive experience in IT/software delivery, preferably working with security-focused architectures and PaaS delivery models.
      • Proven experience in Unix and/or Linux environments; system engineering experience is a plus.

      Over 3 years of hands-on experience with the following:

      • DevOps practices
      • CI/CD tooling (Jenkins/Cloudbees CI, Nexus, Bitbucket/git, or equivalent)
      • Automation/scripting (Python, Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
      • Containerization platforms (Docker, OpenShift).
      • Infrastructure knowledge is a plus
      • Testing automation is a plus

      Demonstrated success working in agile teams, with experience in maturity process assessments and/or Value Stream analysis.

      Education:

      A 4 or 5-year university degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
