Provide quality professional development for Educational Diagnosticians based on best practices. Maintain accurate inventory of evaluation materials. Monitor compliance of all federal/local timelines, individual records, state performance plan indicators 11 & 12, and discipline procedures.

      Position Description

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities

      • Manage Educational Diagnosticians to ensure the implementation of assessment best practices that are consistent with laws, rules, and regulations according to federal, state, and local policies / procedures
      • Monitor and serve as a mentor to new Educational Diagnosticians
      • Consult with Educational Diagnosticians regarding special education eligibility, IEPs, services and placement
      • Plan and implement professional development for Educational Diagnosticians
      • Design and maintain recommendations for changes in the assessment batteries
      • Assist Educational Diagnosticians in completing Full Individual Evaluations and facilitating ARD / IEP meetings
      • Analyze referral data to comply with State Performance Plan Indicators 11 and 12
      • Evaluate and assign Educational Diagnostician caseloads
      • Maintain accurate inventory of evaluation materials including the procurement of necessary evaluation instruments, protocols, etc

            • Master's Degree in Educational Psychology, Special Education or related field
            • Valid Educational Diagnostician Certification
            • Minimum of 3 years as Educational Diagnostician in public schools
            • Proficient using Windows Operating System as well as Microsoft Office application(Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
            • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Attendance at conferences and professional development is required. Work involves everyday risks and discomforts which require normal safety precautions when operating equipment or performing job duties. May work prolonged or irregular hours and must be able to maintain emotional control under stress.
