- Handle normal engineering duties as a program engineer on a specific engine type
- Complete technical reviews of engineering documents generated by other team members
- Interfacing at a department level on priorities and projects related to regulatory compliance, reliability, etc.
- Administrative duties tied to direct supervision of staff
- Industry level engagement on technical issues within their field of knowledge, including time spent directly with the OEM’s, vendors, government regulators
- B.S Degree in Engineering, related technical field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 4 years as a Program Engineer or similar role elsewhere in the industry
- Working knowledge on Boeing and/or Airbus aircraft and engines
- Engineering skills which can be applied to a range of aircraft systems, maintenance programs and engines
- Ability to analyze complex technical issues, detailed level of project management for regulatory compliance requirements
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of CFRs, airworthiness design and substantiation criteria, aircraft and equipment design and operational characteristics, and aircraft materials and processes
- Estimated 20% travel to both domestic and foreign locations
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
- Strong skills in MS office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Knowledge of air carrier operations

Key Responsibilities:
The Powerplant Engineering Lead Engineer will perform the technical duties of a program engineer through ownership of a specific engine fleet as well as perform supervisory functions for an assigned group of engineers. These encompass direct operational support of engines in both, tactical and strategic environments. At this level, it is expected the individual will have enough technical proficiency to coach and guide a team of engineers. In addition to the hardware ownership role, this assignment will also require technical reviews of documentation generated by other engineering team members. The successful candidate will mentor and develop their team to grow talent and technical expertise across multiple engine types. This individual will also work with multiple other departments on projects owned by their team as well as interacting regularly with OEMs, vendors, government regulators, and industry committees.
