      Description

      PURPOSE OF POSITION:

      Responsible for the preparation of high-quality foods in a timely, efficient, sanitary, and consistent manner. Must be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining organization. Must be able to follow all safety procedures.

      PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Capable of executing the preparation of all food items in accordance with the menu
      • Sets up station according to restaurant guidelines
      • Ability to work and maintain proficiency in any station in designated outlet or work area
      • Independently maintains relevant preparation and par levels of food items according to the menu and product sales
      • Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as determined by the Chef de Cuisine
      • Cleans and maintains station(s) in practicing good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills
      • Ensure quality of safety of food preforming standard sanitary measures including but not limited to proper food storage and handling
      • Always stay productive and prepares for future needs as time allows and as dictated by the Chef de Cuisine or Sous Chef
      • Upholds a safe working environment
      • Performs all other duties as required and defined by the Chef de Cuisine and or Sous Chef

      Qualifications


      REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

      • In-depth skills and knowledge of all kitchen operations
      • Possess strong communication, organization and relationship skills
      • Experience with training others in general back of the house operations
      • Proficient in product identification
      • A true desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast-paced customer service environment
      • Capable of producing a consistent product in a timely manner
      • Strong training and communication skills
      • Culinary education and/or on the job training.
      • Demonstrates knowledge of food quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls and food presentation
      • Highly effective teamwork skills
      • Attention to detail in all areas of work
      • Strong time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
      • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills

      EDUCATION:

      Culinary degree and industry certification preferred.

      INTERNAL CONTACTS:

      Potential for contact with employees from all areas of organization.

      EXTERNAL CONTACTS:

      Private and corporate citizens as well as members of county, state, and federal government, and vendors.

      WORKING CONDITIONS:

      Needs of hospitality department dictate ability to work flexible schedule to coincide with needs of various events.

      PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

      Must be able to sit or stand for long periods; must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
