      Job summary

      Taurus Healthcare is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Nurse for Quality to provide strategic and professional leadership in quality, safety, clinical governance and improvement across our services. This is a senior role that offers the opportunity to influence service delivery and develop a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Youll lead on patient safety systems, oversee regulatory compliance (including CQC), and work closely with stakeholders to ensure the highest standards of care are delivered.

      Main duties of the job

      You will lead and manage governance, risk, compliance and quality improvement functions, driving excellence across clinical services. Youll provide senior nursing leadership, oversee infection prevention and safeguarding, and shape policy and practice through robust clinical governance. You'll work with internal teams and external partners, offering advice, training and mentorship to support nursing and allied health colleagues, helping embed a learning culture and improve patient outcomes.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Oversee incident and complaints management, and support organisational learning.
      • Lead internal quality assurance processes and external compliance reporting.
      • Provide professional advice and support to clinical and operational teams.
      • Collaborate with One Herefordshire partners to enhance system-wide quality efforts.
      • Mentor, develop, and inspire the general practice nursing workforce.

      What Youll Bring:

      • Current NMC registration and a background in general practice or primary care.
      • Proven track record in clinical leadership, quality assurance, and improvement.

      • continue our effective incident and complaints processes and further develop our embedded learning and safety culture.
      • oversee the process for management of incidents, concerns, complaints and litigation, and provide support for the organisation to participate in these investigations; ensuring we provide a dynamic, high quality, responsive and proactive approach.
      • oversee the liaison and next steps in learning from incidents from within the organisation or shared across Herefordshire General Practice, including effective communication e.g. newsletters and leading discussions within forums, meetings or Taurus Healthcare board.
      • oversee the organisations risk register.

      Provide strategic oversight and operational expertise in patient safety software system, (including being the named software asset owner and administrator) for Taurus Healthcare.

      Provide strategic direction and representation for nurses and allied health professionals in Taurus clinical services, alongside nurse leads.

      To provide robust Clinical Governance for Taurus Healthcare services:

      o promote a just and safe culture across the organisation.

      o ensure compliance with healthcare legislation and regulations through the delivery of quality assurance strategies, policies and operational frameworks.

      o ensure service compliance with all clinical governance activities, including audit, clinical risk management, IPC, safeguarding, patient safety and patient experience.

      o oversee internal and external governance and quality related reporting.

      o advise and when required lead investigations, the development and implementation of action plans, and their delivery within agreed timescales.

      o ensure the highest standards of quality and safety reporting and clinical governance activities are maintained within the organisation.

      o ensure effective mechanisms for patient feedback are in place which inform and support a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
