      Job summary

      This post is a Fixed Term/ Secondment until 31.3.27. If you are a Hywel Dda University Health Board employee and are applying for this post as a secondment, agreement for the secondment is needed from your current manager prior to application.

      We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Pharmacy Technician with a passion for digital transformation to join our ePMA team. This is an exciting opportunity to learn more about digital systems and contribute to this transformational change to prescribing and medicines administration in the Health Board.

      ePMA will transform medicines processes in the Health Board, improving efficiency and safety. Having a good knowledge of medicines processes, the post holder will have a crucial role in the configuration and testing of the ePMA system, as well as providing training and support across clinical areas for all groups of staff.

      Promoting digital engagement and the benefits of working digitally will be key to this role. As well as working with clinical teams, the post holder will liaise with digital project teams and colleagues external to the Health Board.

      Main duties of the job

      To contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of the ePMA system. To provide back end support to technical processes such as configuration and building the drug database and testing.

      The post holder will be expected to provide training on the system to clinical staff during implementation, and provide support on the system as needed such as systems access and trouble shooting.

      The role will involve being an active member of system user groups, both internal and external to the Health Board and developing a network with pharmacy ePMA technicians from other healthcare organisations.

      The post holder will be expected to participate in service improvement relating to medicines processes and to extract and report on data generated through the ePMA system.

      The post holder will need to be self-motivated and need to manage own workload, whilst supporting other pharmacy technician/s on the team.

There may be a requirement to work shift patterns over a 7-day/24-hour period during key implementation phases.
