      PMC Project Engineer

      PMC Project Engineer is responsible for applying knowledge of power plant design to lead a staff of discipline Engineers in support of assigned projects

      Must Have:

      • Bachelor of Science in Engineering

      • Minimum 8 years’ experience in Utility Industry.

      • Strong leadership skills.

      This position will support Projects in Duke’s Midwest service area.

      Responsibilities:

      Successful applicants for this role will provide and be responsible for the following:

      Project Engineers coordinate the engineering work being performed among contractors, vendors Development Teams, PM’s and Project Teams. They are accountable for coordinating the resolution of issues presented by contractors or others and confirm that the terms of the contract are met, and there is effective communication of technical issues within the project teams and the functional teams.

      • Lead engineering teams in the development of technical work scope and specifications for project applications.

      • Ensure compliance to Duke technical specifications for proposal work scopes.

      • Support the development of other engineers; Implement and ensure the flow of process improvements.

      • Provide daily coordination of technical resources during all aspects of project execution, including preparing status reports or meetings, preparing deliverables, scheduling, cost/man hour tracking and providing input concerning potential obstacles that could prevent successful completion of a project.

      • Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.

      • Functions as a member of project teams providing technical input to the team. Participates in conceptualizing, designing, configuring, installing, and start-up of client projects.

      • Maintains regular and frequent contacts with his/her counterparts in PMC and Central Engineering when presenting and reviewing progress, data and establishing future project direction. Has occasional contact with support staff personnel and interfaces with site personnel as projects progress.

      • Apply company standards and procedures in all the work that is performed.

      • Maintain a high level of technical competency in current technologies, product offering, and their application.

      • Assist other engineers in the development and preparation of project proposals.

      • Monitor program/project progress and implement improvements and/or modifications.

      Education and Work Experience Requirements:

      • BS in Engineering

      • 8 year's experience

      Skills & Abilities:

      • Process knowledge in Utility Industry – Preferably gas fired Combined Cycle

      • Analytical/Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated effectiveness in organizational and communication skills.

      • Ability to apply advanced aspects of technical/engineering field to practical business problems.

      • Ability to apply managerial and leadership concepts and techniques (plan, execute, direct, coach, mentor, evaluate and control).

      • Ability to develop and execute individual and team priorities.

      • Demonstrated effectiveness in organizational and communication skills.

      • Excellent presentation skills: Ability to succeed and lead in a team environment.
