      Job Description

      The Lead Housekeeper is responsible for supervising the cleaning operation of the casino vessel ensuring compliance with the all applicable regulations, the policies/procedures of Belterra Casino Resort & Spa and serving both the external and internal customers by providing a clean, friendly and safe atmosphere on the vessel.

      The Lead Porter:

      • Provides extraordinary guest service, positively effects interactions with internal/external guests, has resiliency to deal with difficult guests in all types of business condition and the agility to work harmoniously with co-workers.
      • Adheres to and enforce compliance with all regulations established by the Indiana Gaming Commission, ABS and other applicable agencies pertaining to riverboat gaming and vessel operations.
      • Adheres to and enforce the policies and procedures established by Belterra Casino Resort & Spa.
      • Supports the Response Team in the performance of fire, safety, and emergency procedures of the casino to ensure the safety of passengers, employees and property.
      • Supports Utility Porters to meet the expected performance standards for their positions.
      • Assigns tasks to maintain the daily appearance of the casino at a level commiserate with a premier gaming resort.
      • During their assigned watch, supervises and supports Utility Porters to complete cleaning duties and maintenance/repair tasks on the vessel with minimal impact on guest services.
      • Executes all tasks as assigned by management.

      Qualifications

      • Ability to create or read and interpret documents such as vessel schematics and policy and procedure manuals.
      • Ability to speak effectively with customers and/or employees.
      • Ability to create or carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
      • Ability to deal with problems and implement effective solutions.
      • Must be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
      • This position operates in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, cold, heat, humidity, vibration, crowds, and smoke.
      • Must pass a chemical dependency test as required and work in a drug free environment.
      • Must obtain and maintain the appropriate work authorization required to perform job responsibilities.
      • Posses a High School Diploma or equivalent.
      • One (1) year of experience onboard vessel.
      • Prior experience onboard riverboat casinos as a Porter preferred.
      • High degree of interpersonal skills.
      • Must have strong leadership and team building skills.
      • Must be detail oriented.
      • Must be at least 21 years of age.
      • Must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses / certification per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations
