      Job Summary

      Getty Communications seeks to inspire joy and insight by sharing art and intellectual output. It seeks to increase global, national, and regional awareness of Getty, its programs, and its impact as a leading institution advancing visual art and cultural heritage for the benefit of all. Through creative content development, public relations, marketing, social media, and digital communications efforts, it expands access to Getty content and engages both professional and public audiences.

      Getty’s Communications department seeks a highly creative and collaborative Lead Producer, Web Content with strong attention to detail to oversee content updates across the top-level pages of Getty.edu. Reporting to the Assistant Director, Web Content Strategy, this role is dedicated to managing and maintaining Getty.edu high-trafficked web pages. The Lead Producer, Web Content works to a high standard of excellence and polish, writes copy, and oversees the input of content and metadata into our content management system.

      **NOTE: Getty employees are required to live within commuting distance from the Getty Center. Relocation is not provided. A hybrid on-site/work-from-home schedule will be offered.

      Major Job Responsibilities

      • Manage team members and oversee team resource allocation across projects and initiatives
      • Work across the organization to listen to and update content for top-level landing pages utilizing Getty’s content management system
      • Oversee the writing of text and microcopy according to Chicago and house style, accessibility standards, and UX writing best practices
      • Ensure that appropriate metadata and accessibility standards are followed for Communications-produced web media files
      • Ensure that all Getty-updated web content is accessible in compliance with WCAG 2.1
      • Contribute to web standards documentation as needed
      • Work with other members of the Communications web team to document and help define content-stewardship standards and processes
      • Lead periodic content audits and reporting to help digital content staff across the organization maintain website integrity

      Qualifications

      • 7+ years of experience in media production, editorial, or content development
      • Bachelor's degree in a related field, preferably in digital media production

      Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

      • Experience in managing and mentoring teams
      • Skilled at organization-wide collaboration with excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
      • Demonstrated ability to translate organizational goals, user needs, and research into actionable content in complex environment
      • Skilled at creating content according to brand, editorial, UX, and accessibility best practices
      • Editorial experience with writing styles and best practices preferred
      • Ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
      • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work tasks
      • Experience with Google Analytics
      • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and best practices
      • Knowledge of digital software applications (Adobe Creative, Google Suite, etc.)
      • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and markdown
